Barnes Corners Trail System, Tug Hill Region

An extensive system of trails exists in the most
utilized County forest: Washington Park. The Barnes Corners Trail System
is primarily used for cross-country skiing in the winter, but other
non-motorized uses such as mountain biking are allowed year-round. For a

Black River Feeder Canal Trail
(Boonville to
Forestport), Tug Hill Region
The trail
runs along an old towpath from Erwin Park at Boonville to Alder Pond at
Forestport following the narrow canal that linked the two villages. A
quiet walk or bike trip through woods and fields along the old towpath;
portions of the trail may be accessible to people with
disabilities.
Bloomingdale Bog, Saranac Lake Area
An elevated, sandy pathway with many open views that utilizes an abandoned D&H railroad right-of-way and bisects a
plant-rich bog community. About 8 miles one way.
Brewster Peninsula Nature Trails, Lake Placid
A compact network of easy trails traversing gently rolling terrain and winding through a mixed forest and along the
shore of Lake Placid. A brochure is available from the DEC, or you can contact a local bike shop or chamber of commerce for more information.
Carpenter Road Recreation Trails, Tug Hill Region
Walk or bike the various loops of this 8-mile trail system, described as easy, that pass beside scenic ponds and streams
and through forests, including a Japanese larch-white spruce plantation. Contact a local bike shop or chamber of
commerce for more information.
Connery Pond Truck Road, Lake Placid
Area
A short dirt road suitable for any ability followed by a small length of easy trail. It's about a mile each way and you
should turn around when you see the sign saying "No Bikes".
Flume Falls Trails,
Wilmington (online map)
Mountain biking trails in Wilmington (near Whiteface
Mountain). Dirt roads and single track of varying degrees of difficulty,
these trails connect with the Whiteface Mountain trail system.
Great Camp Santanoni, Newcomb
Bicycle to the partially restored
Great Camp Santanoni, an easy 9-mile round trip on a dirt road that starts
near an old gatehouse and passes an old farm site on the way.
Hayes Brook Truck Trail, Paul Smiths Region
A 7.2-mile
round trip on wide dirt roads traverses a pine plantation and forest and
leads to an old sheep meadow. Spur trails lead to Hayes Brook and to a
lean-to on Grassy Pond. Contact a local bike shop or chamber of commerce
for more information.

in the Adirondack Mountains.
Jackrabbit Trail, Oseetah Lake (Saranac
Lake)
Trails along the railroad tracks,
on an extension of the Jackrabbit Trail, and behind the parking lot where
the tracks cross Route 86 between Saranac Lake and Ray Brook.

A true Adirondack trail, with lots
of rocks and roots, this 12.2 mile intermediate loop leads to Moose
Mountain Pond and Bass Lake.

Scarface Mountain, Ray Brook
The access trails to Scarface Mountain in Ray Brook are great
for mountain biking; the trails up the actual mountain itself are not
suitable for riding and you are requested to please abstain from riding up
Scarface Mountain, but you can leave your bike and hike up the
mountain.
Shelving Rock Big Loop Trail, Lake George Wild
Forest
This route
represents some of the 38 miles of trails available to mountain bikes in
the Lake George Wild Forest. There is a 1,000 foot elevation difference
between the parking area and the shoreline of the lake, so these trails
are recommended for fit riders who can handle technical terrain.

Tug Hill Tourathon Cross-Country Ski & Bike
Trail
A substantial portion of the two County Tug Hill Tourathon Trail lies in the Town of Lorraine. The complete trail
